Emergency Relief Support
Emergency Relief Support is the immediate provision of emergency relief distribution at the site of the emergency after any disasters occur. This year we were able to reach out to provide emergency relief support to many districts of Nepal which includes Rukum, Morang, Siraha, Baitadi, Kanchanpur, Bara, and Parsa and provided humanitarian aid to persons and communities who have suffered from some form of disaster.
Flood Response
No. of flood victims/households served: 228 households
District: Aathbiskot, Rukum

We have provided food items, non-food items, and shelter support to the flood-affected community at Rukum District, to protect the life, health, safety, and welfare of the affected community. As a result, the affected people were benefited from the provision of food and non-food items and their immediate needs were met. Physically and mentally they feel safe and sound. Their lives have been settled and restored after the relief aid. This project was funded by Samaritan’s Purse Canada (SPC).
Winterization Project
Districts: Rukum, Morang, Siraha, Baitadi, and Kanchanpur
No. of people served during this period: 1,131 people which includes elderly people, single
women, school and orphan children, destitute and people of backward communities.

The affected vulnerable people groups and t h e backward community of Nepal who was suffering from the severe cold this year were provided with winter relief materials. Lives have been affected due to the adverse weather brought about by a cold wave and in these hard times, NCRS was able to meet their immediate needs. The number of people affected by the disaster was reduced. The relief distribution has helped them to survive the winter and remain safe. Our small effort has made a big difference in the community. We are very grateful for our local partners and international donors Samaritan’s Purse, Canada (SPC) and Covenant World Relief, USA (CWR) who supported us in this project.
Relief Aid for Tornado Victims of Bara
District: Parwanipur Rural Municipality, Bara
No. of people served during this period: 425 children

A strong tornado hits Bara and Parsa districts on April 1, 2019. Many people died and thousands of them were badly injured. Around 80% of households were destroyed. Various individuals and social organizations had provided relief materials and analyzing the actual needs after a week, NCRS was able to meet the prior needs of the children of age 4-16. We in coordination with District Administration Office- Bara, distributed readymade clothes to 425 children age 4-16. This program was funded by Covenant World Relief (CWR) and local partners of NCRS.
Relief Support for Fire Victims
One family of Makwanpur but currently living in Sunakothi, Lalitpur was affected by the fire. They were living in a rented house and fire razed out in one of their rooms. Lal Bahadur Damai, who is the head of the family, has 3 children and their personal belongings such as clothes, blankets, bed, books and everything was destroyed. Thus, we distributed fiber quilt, school bags, mosquito nets, blankets and water buckets to this family at NCRS head office.
