Rauthahat And Mahottari Flood Relief Aid 2019
Continuous 3 days of rainfall from July 11, 2019, had affected more than 30 districts of Nepal. Out of 30 affected districts, NCRS was able to provide aid for 2 most affected districts, Rautahat and Mahottari. The condition of the people of these 2 districts was very miserable. Most of them are from Dalit families who are the backward community of Nepal. Through support from Samaritan’s Purse USA, Covenant World Relief (CWR), USA and national donors, we were able to distribute hygiene kits, a pair of blankets and mosquito nets.
The complications and frustrations of the suffering people were reduced and physically and mentally they felt safe. The affected households were very delighted to receive the relief aid and were thankful for the funding partners. The local government was very supportive and we received positive feedback from them as well.

Distribution date- July 31, 2019
Gaur Municipality- Ward no.7- 186; Ward no. 9-231= 417 households. Rajdevi Municipality- Ward no.4- 183; Ward no.7- 179= 362 households. Brindaban Municipality- Ward no. 4, 8, 9= 63 households.
Mahottari District
Distribution date- August 1, 2019 Ramgopalpur Municipality- Ward no. 6= 200 households.
Disaster Preparedness And Mitigation Project Monitoring And Evaluation
On 9th November 2019, Monitoring and Evaluation (ME) of Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation project was completed at Lalitpur where 25 participants from advance training were present.
Similarly, Dhading Monitoring and Evaluation (ME) was completed on 10th November 2019 and there were altogether 22 participants. Both Monitoring and Evaluation were facilitated by Mr. Rajkumar Gautam (Himalayan Gorges) and Subash Neupane. The purpose of ME is to measure the level of understanding and practices of participants on DM (Disaster Management) in their respective areas. This project is being sponsored by Mennonite Central Committee and we are grateful towards them for their continious support and encouragement.
